Job Title: Associate Manager, Quality Management - Space Assembly Job Code: 42705 Job Location: Onsite at our Canoga Park, CA facility Job Schedule: 9/80 Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off Job Description We are seeking an entry level Associate Manager, Quality – Space Assembly to lead multiple program assembly activities within a clean environment at our Canoga Park, CA facility. This role is responsible for managing the Assembly function of our Quality Inspection Department, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of product acceptance used in manufacturing and quality operations. The Associate Manager will provide technical and people leadership for Quality Inspection Union employees. This position will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and other cross‑functional teams to support product quality, process effectiveness, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of quality systems (AS9100) and process control combined with strong interpersonal skills. This includes familiarity with teambuilding, conflict resolution, strong organizational skills and the ability to make data‑driven decisions. Essential Functions Manage Space Assembly Team while incorporating a “management by metrics” methodology. Ensure compliance with internal quality requirements, customer requirements, and applicable industry and regulatory standards, including AS9100 (or future equivalent). Provide input and help manage the responsible area budget including overhead and requests for capital. Encourage and lead team inputs for continuous improvement of best practice methodologies and integrate within the Quality Management System (AS9100) Participate in root cause and corrective action activities, failure investigations, metrics creation and quality improvement projects Review and analyze Key Performance Indicator metrics, maintain and manage overtime logs, ensure equipment is calibrated at appropriate intervals. Partner with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, operations, and quality to resolve nonconformance‑related issues and support production needs. Plan and prioritize departmental workload, staffing, and resources to meet business objectives and customer commitments. Mentor and develop team members to strengthen technical capability and process rigor. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 6 years of prior related quality experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related quality experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related quality experience. Preferred Additional Skills Proven track record of mentoring and training experience Strong understanding of measurement principles, uncertainty, calibration methods and measurement system analysis. Failure investigation, root cause and corrective action processes Nonconformance reporting and the Material Review Board (MRB) process Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) techniques Experience with Unions Experience with conflict resolution\" Prior experience with Aerospace Production/Government Contracts/DCMA/MDA Experience supporting audit activities and maintaining compliance documentation. Ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence stakeholders across the organization. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
