This is a hybrid position based out of our Elk Grove Village, IL location.Position Summary: Responsible for dispensing prescriptions and coordinating clinical services for Specialty Pharmacy patients and other customers serviced at the branch location. This position is responsible for interacting with the health care professionals in the provision and coordination of customer care.Essential Duties:Providing specialized pharmaceutical services to improve drug usage and therapeutic outcomes including advising and educating physicians on patient issues concerning drug therapy, the inherent toxicity of drugs, side effects, and appropriate dosing. Additionally, this role will be a key communicator to the physician regarding patient response to treatment issuesData Entry, verification of prescriptions and checking of orders.Coordinating the activities of assigned pharmacy technicians engaged in the preparation, labeling and delivery of medications and other pharmaceutical supplies in accordance with physicians' prescriptionsConducting and evaluating medication histories, assessing compliance and suggesting modifications so as to achieve desired outcomes. This role will provide educational assistance to patients/families/caregivers to ensure understanding and to provide information regarding the patient's therapy/treatment. Management oversight of the therapy care planParticipate in On-call rotation and activitiesEnsuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining to the dispensing of drugs and controlled drugs and the maintenance of required recordsOther duties as assignedThe information written in this job description indicates the general nature and level of work to be performed. D. Degree preferredCandidate must be licensed in the state of Illinois.
