Facilities Technician III Job Summary: This role is an essential part of the UW-Madison Concrete and Asphalt Construction Crew within the Grounds Department. As a member of this team, you'll help keep our campus safe, accessible, and looking its best by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing hard surfaces such as sidewalks, curbs, steps, asphalt pads, paths, and parking lots- all across our beautiful UW-Madison grounds. You'll also get hands-on experience with landscaping projects, building retaining walls, and supporting snow removal efforts during the winter season. The minimum rate for this position is $25/hr, but it is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. - Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
- Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed
- Landscaping and retaining wall building
- Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
- Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries independently to appropriate entities
- Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
- Performs snow removal using a variety of equipment

Required Qualifications:
- Experience working with outdoor surfaces or similar maintenance tasks.
- Understanding of hard surface inspection, maintenance, or repair
- Ability to obtain a Class A CDL - Commercial Driver's License with Air Brake & Tanker endorsement within 6 month of hire.
- Valid Driver's License that meets UW Risk Management Standards
- Experience in concrete, asphalt, or rough grading
- Preferred; High School Diploma or GED
