Job Title: OR RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS; PALS preferred Must-Have: 2-3 years of experience in the specialty required. 2-3 previous travel assignments preferred. Ortho experience required. Must have experience passing instruments in and out for robotics. Experience with all specialties is necessary for evening/night shift. Must be comfortable scrubbing. Description: The role involves working in a fast-paced operating room environment. The unit has 9 operating rooms and 1 procedure room. Average case volume is 35-45 cases per day. Common cases include general, ENT, eyes, ortho, robotics, neuro spine, trauma, and vascular procedures. Emergent cases like appy, stabbings, and cranial surgeries are also part of the caseload. Position requires circulating duties as needed. Charge nurse duties may be required. Travelers are expected to rotate through charge. One weekday on-call shift from 7 PM to 7 AM required. Weekend on-call rotation is also expected, with 24-hour coverage. Response time for on-call duties is 30 minutes. Scrubs are provided for all nursing staff. The staff comprises mostly travelers, and there are no aids or housekeeping. Support and teaching opportunities are available for those with minimal experience in selected service lines. The position requires flexibility for block scheduling to meet unit needs.
