Product Owner - Investment Management New York City, NY - Onsite Contract

Job Title: Product Owner - Investment Management Location: Onsite - New York City, NY Job Type: 12-18 Contract Job Summary: We are seeking three (3) mid-level Product Owners to join our client's growing team focused on Advisory product expansion for Alternatives within the Investment Management space . This is a hands-on, onsite role in New York City working closely with business and technology stakeholders to deliver high-impact products in a regulated financial environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with stakeholders across business, technology, operations, legal, and compliance to gather and validate product requirements.
- Engage with business units daily to understand workflows, document needs, and address client issues.
- Translate business objectives into clear, actionable user stories and functional specifications .
- Drive product development in an Agile environment , prioritizing features and resolving blockers.
- Work alongside developers and QA teams to ensure deliverables meet defined acceptance criteria.
- Present product plans and progress to internal stakeholders for alignment and approval.
- Ensure all changes comply with firm policies and regulatory standards (legal, risk, compliance).
- Promote a data-driven decision-making approach throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support user onboarding and provide training/documentation as needed.
- 5-7 years of experience as a Product Owner , particularly in Investment Management domain.
- Strong understanding of Advisory platforms, Alternative Investments , and related processes.
- Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross-functional teams.
- Strong documentation skills - user stories, BRDs, functional specs.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work onsite in NYC and collaborate with teams across technology, business, and compliance.
- Experience working with compliance-heavy products or regulated financial environments .
- Familiarity with tools like JIRA, Confluence, Excel , and SQL for data validation or tracking.
- Exposure to front-office tools or client advisory platforms is a plus.
