Veterinary Student Externship Opportunity (DVM Students)

Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) is excited to offer externship opportunities for DVM students looking to learn in a collaborative, fast-paced, and patient-focused environment.

PVESC's externship program provides veterinary students with valuable exposure to advanced patient care while working alongside experienced emergency clinicians, specialists, technicians, and support staff.

Externs may gain experience in:

• Emergency and critical care medicine
• Specialty medicine and surgery
• Diagnostic imaging and advanced diagnostics
• Inpatient care and case management
• Clinical decision-making and treatment planning
• Client communication and collaborative patient care

Students will have opportunities to participate in rounds, observe and assist with procedures when appropriate, and develop practical clinical skills while learning from a highly supportive team.

We welcome applications from:

• Current DVM students enrolled in an accredited veterinary school
• Students interested in emergency, specialty, or advanced small animal medicine
• Motivated team players who are eager to learn and grow in a collaborative clinical setting
