Operating Room-Registered Nurse, Full Time

Boston Medical Center – Brighton invites qualified nurses to join our operating room team. About the Role Position: Registered Nurse (Operating Room). Location: Brighton, Boston. Schedule: 40 hours per week, 4-10 hour shifts (call required). Job Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Perioperative Services unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families. Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records. Enter and interpret computerized data/information. Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC-Brighton's nursing organization. Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects. Education Requirements Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Certification in basic life support (BLS). CNOR certification (preferred). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred). Experience 2 years’ registered nurse experience required. 1 year of operating room experience (2 years preferred). Must be experienced in a circulating role. Knowledge & Skills Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areas. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
