About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: RN License in Texas or Compact Certifications: BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only) Must-Have: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred Description: The competent nurse, in a similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets the expectations of the applicable competencies for leadership roles. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using the appropriate protocol, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and the effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
