Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity unit serving PCU, MS Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical patients with ratios adjusted by acuity
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias; manage cardiac drips and titrate as indicated
• Perform and manage a broad range of clinical skills including central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• Care for surgical patients including ENT, general surgery, trauma surgery, and orthopedic surgery populations, as well as overflow medical diagnosis patients
• Utilize EPIC for documentation, Pyxis for medication management, and SBAR for communication
• Float to sister units as required, including comparable step-down and observation units

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license required prior to submission
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience; PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years is required
• EPIC charting experience is a hard requirement
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, non-invasive airway management, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility; locals will not be accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred
• TCAR (Transcarotid Artery Revascularization) experience preferred
• Experience with peripheral nerve block catheters, traction, and continuous bladder irrigation
