What you'll be doing:

• Promote IT security best practices company-wise
• Investigate security breaches and other cyber-security incidents
• Ensure the development of and continuous review/update of a suitable security awareness program
• Conduct internal and external security audits
• Manage network, intrusion detection, and prevention systems
• Ensure that the IT infrastructure is compliant with all regulatory requirements (i.e. 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR), existing SOPs, and generally accepted industry practices
• Perform vulnerability assessments, security testing, and work on remediation and mitigation findings for companywide assets
• Research and recommend improvements to the technical infrastructure relative to security, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), UTM, and overall system integrity
• Provide off hour support on an infrequent, but as needed basis
• Stay current on IT security trends and news

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor's degree, or its international equivalent, in Computer Science/Information Technology or related discipline, or equivalent combined education and experience
• Certification, or commitment to quickly obtain certification, such as Security+
• 1-2 years with significant security related information systems/technology experience or 3-5 years IT Operations experience with direct experience in a modern IT environment
• Experience identifying and mitigating network vulnerabilities and explaining to others how to avoid them
• Hands-on experience with the following: Fortinet solutions, vulnerability scanning, antivirus & malware analysis, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), log correlation tools, and network access control (NAC)
• Familiarity with machine learning concepts
• Familiarity with best practice security configurations for solutions by VMWare, and Microsoft Windows Server
• Strong familiarity with access-lists, subnet masks, subnetting, and ip routing
• Background in CRO, pharmaceutical, biotech development, or health care industry preferred
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment
• Sound organizational and time-management skills. Must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize as needed in a fast-paced working environment, especially when dealing with time sensitive issues and mandated deadlines
• Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
• Excellent team player; collaborative; consensus builder
