Job Title: Multicraft Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role is a hands-on multicraft maintenance technician position focused on advanced electrical troubleshooting and industrial maintenance in a fast-paced, highly automated automotive manufacturing environment. You will work with 480-volt systems, interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and use a CMMS system to perform preventive and corrective maintenance while supporting equipment reliability and uptime.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced electrical troubleshooting on production equipment and systems, including 480-volt circuits and controls.

• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair equipment issues.

• Conduct preventive maintenance activities to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.

• Execute corrective maintenance and repairs in response to equipment breakdowns, ensuring safe and timely restoration of operations.

• Participate in reliability studies and improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce recurring failures.

• Use a CMMS maintenance system to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and update equipment history.

• Diagnose and repair industrial maintenance issues involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics systems.

• Troubleshoot and maintain Fanuc robots and Allen-Bradley PLCs and related automation equipment.

• Use a multimeter and other diagnostic tools to test, verify, and validate electrical and electronic systems.

• Work effectively in a fast-paced, just-in-time automotive production environment, responding quickly to equipment issues.

• Follow established safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices when working with high-voltage equipment and machinery.

• Collaborate with other maintenance and production personnel to minimize downtime and support continuous operations.

• Complete shift documentation and communicate equipment status and outstanding issues to incoming shift personnel.

Essential Skills

• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with experience working on 480-volt systems.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.

• Hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance in an industrial environment.

• Demonstrated experience with equipment breakdowns, diagnostics, and repairs.

• Practical experience using a CMMS maintenance system to manage work orders and maintenance records.

• Ability to use a multimeter and other electrical test equipment safely and accurately.

• Industrial maintenance experience, including exposure to automated manufacturing equipment.

• Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics systems and their application in industrial machinery.

• Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Fanuc robots.

• Experience working with Allen-Bradley PLCs and related control systems.

• Comfort working in a fast-paced automotive, just-in-time production environment.

• Strong commitment to safety when working with high-voltage electrical systems and moving machinery.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a unionized manufacturing facility.

• Experience in an automated plant environment with robotics and PLC-based systems.

• Experience in automotive manufacturing or similar high-volume production settings.

• Ability to work independently on complex technical problems and collaborate within a maintenance team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.

• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed to support production demands.

Work Environment

The role is based in a union automotive manufacturing plant operating on a just-in-time production model, resulting in a fast-paced and dynamic work setting. You will work primarily on 3rd shift, Sunday through Thursday, from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with current schedules typically running 10-12 hour days and regular weekend work to meet production needs. The facility is clean but non-climate-controlled, so temperatures can vary with the seasons. You will work around highly automated equipment, including robots and PLC-controlled systems, and use standard maintenance tools and diagnostic instruments such as multimeters. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and responsiveness to keep equipment running reliably.

This is a Permanent position based out of Spring Hill, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $76960.00/yr.
