Position Overview

This position is accountable for the assessment, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care, including direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions of care in an acute care setting. The role involves delivering holistic and individualized care to all patients in the assigned area, as well as developing, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive plan of care that accounts for psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle factors. The nurse will foster and maintain collaborative relationships with patients, their families, and the healthcare team through effective communication.

Education

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (Required)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (Preferred)

Experience

• Minimum one year of current experience in Med/Tele (Required)

Licensure and Certifications

• Registered Nurse - State Licensure - RN (Required)
• Basic Life Support Certification - BLS (Required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support - ACLS (Required)

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Proficiency in telemetry and rhythm interpretation, including the recognition of common arrhythmias and the ability to assess and respond appropriately.
• Clinical experience with various intravenous drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin, and Heparin, including knowledge of appropriate oversight and monitoring for each type.
• Demonstrated knowledge and competence in nursing theories, practices, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey information clearly to diverse audiences, including those without a medical background.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize patient care and assignments accordingly.
• Basic familiarity with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Outlook).
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Critical thinking capabilities to identify and address routine or complex problems.
• Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and handling protected health information (PHI) responsibly.
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and other healthcare providers.

• Patient Age Groups: Adults
• Daily Census: Approximately 22 patients
• Number of Beds: 24
• Interdisciplinary Support: Includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and more

Working Hours

• Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Every Other Weekend Required
