About the team Managed Payments allows the company users to sell their products globally without the traditional overhead of tax, compliance, fraud, disputes, and more. By serving as the Merchant of Record for all transactions, we provide an all-in-one solution to seamlessly handle global digital commerce, allowing businesses to focus on growing their unique competitive advantages. We are a high-context, high-leverage team that operates at the intersection of almost every major product at the company. What you’ll do As an Engineering Manager for the company Managed Payments, you will lead a highly motivated team responsible for scaling one of the company’s most ambitious new product areas. You’ll work alongside leaders in the space to create a compelling vision, translate this vision into clear priorities, and work with your team to create surprisingly great experiences. This is a role for a strategic leader who excels at navigating complex challenges, both technical and non-technical. Your role will be uniquely cross-functional: success requires not only running a high-achieving engineering team, but also a willingness to dig into problems across domains. A typical week may involve supporting your team on ongoing engineering projects, exploring tax policy with domain experts, or creating staffing plans across multiple organizations to achieve outcomes. Responsibilities Lead and scale a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of high execution, rigorous prioritization, and open communication Define and drive the roadmap and priorities as the editor-in-chief of your team’s plans, collaborating with stakeholders across product, design, infrastructure, and marketing Establish close feedback loops with customers and collaborate closely with partner teams across multiple organizations Foster a high level of technical excellence on the team, upholding high engineering standards and implementing best practices throughout your team Recruit, coach, and mentor engineers, helping them grow their impact and navigate a fast-evolving product space Contribute to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of the company’s engineering management team Who you are We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. Minimum requirements 4+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of several engineers focused on building and shipping products at scale 8+ years of full time software development experience Experience building extensible, leveraged software solutions, with the ability to empathize with users and advocate for exceptional user experiences Technical acumen to engage thoughtfully with engineers around architecture and implementation decisions, serving as a force multiplier for the team Preferred requirements Track-record of thriving in cross-functional environments, demonstrating rigorous thinking, effective decision-making, and ability to build strong cross-team relationships Background in financial product companies and interest in financial products and markets Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence partner teams and align them toward a shared vision Experience scaling early-stage products during critical periods of growth A strong product/design sense and a drive to find elegant solutions to complex problems #J-18808-Ljbffr United States Digital Space LLC
