Network Engineer

Responsibilities Kforce has a client in Suwanee, GA that is seeking a Network Engineer to support a large K-12 educational environment. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates, junior IT professionals, or Help Desk/Desktop Support technicians looking to transition into a networking-focused career path. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, eager to learn, and interested in developing hands-on networking and infrastructure experience with mentorship from senior engineers.Responsibilities: Travel to school sites to support network installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities Work closely with school technology teams and end users to resolve networking and connectivity issues Assist with network infrastructure support, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and related technologies Participate in a structured onboarding and training program Shadow senior network engineers and gradually take ownership of support activities Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with school administrators, faculty, and technical staff Document issues, updates, and resolutions as needed Skills 0-3 years of IT experience Strong communication and customer service skills Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, switching, and routing Experience in Help Desk, Desktop Support, Technical Support, or similar IT support roles is highly preferred Interest in pursuing a career in networking or infrastructure Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a customer-facing environment Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between school sites Preferred Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or a related field CCNA certification or active pursuit of CCNA Experience supporting users in educational, government, or other public sector environments Experience with ticketing systems and technical troubleshooting This role is well-suited for: Entry level IT candidates seeking hands-on networking experience Tier 1 or Tier 2 Help Desk professionals looking to advance into networking Desktop Support or Technical Support specialists interested in infrastructure technologies Individuals pursuing a long-term career path toward Network Engineering The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
