Procurement Specialist II

Job TitleNegotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of goods, services and supplies for customer-related business processes or for internal use as a generalist or in a combination of Purchasing DisciplinesImpact of the RoleRequires working knowledge and experience in own job discipline and broadens capabilities. Continues to build knowledge of the company, processes and customers. Performs a range of assignments related to job discipline. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment.Essential FunctionsDevelops and executes sourcing strategy, evaluates product offerings, recommends suppliers, and negotiates contracts for assigned categories or departments.Gathers business requirements and identifies and pre-qualifies potential suppliers.Develops and distributes RFPs/RFQs and collects bids or other information.Evaluates proposals/quotes based on offering quality, cost, or other criteria and recommends suppliers that are best suited to meet the organization's requirements.Works with selected suppliers to develop mutually acceptable contractual agreements.May oversee tactical purchasing operations, such as the issuance of purchase orders or the payment of invoices.Ensures that all procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.Required QualificationsRequired education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or ExperienceCritical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Preferred QualificationsPreferred education and experience: Bachelor's DegreeDiscipline/Major: Business Administration/ Supply Chain ManagementKnowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Decision-making skills. Oral and written communication skills. Analytical thinking skills. Detail oriented. Ability to meet deadlines.Physical RequirementsMust be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.Travel RequirementsNo or very little travel likely.Pay Range (USD)$70,000 - $95,000Pay Transparency StatementThe salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
