Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Inpatient Hematology - Rotational

Scope of Position The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides health care services to patients within the parameters of a standard care or supervisory agreement with an attending physician member of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The APP collaborates with physicians and other clinicians to offer a full scope of patient care focused on preventive health and the management of acute or stable chronic conditions. Medical services performed must be specifically authorized by the credentialing body and the certifying organization that issued the licence. Position Summary The APP works in partnership with a licensed physician to deliver health care services. Responsibilities include care during acute and chronic illness phases, patient and family education, counseling, health promotion, prevention, and referral to other health‑care providers or community resources when appropriate. The APP will work clinically on Hematology 3 (lymphoma work‑up and complications) and Classical Hematology (sickle cell, ITP, TTP, etc.) services, applying internal medicine knowledge to care for newly diagnosed and established lymphoma patients. Minimum Qualifications Nurse Practitioner Pathway Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio Graduate of a nurse‑practitioner program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination of a national certifying organization recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing Master of Science degree in Nursing Zero years of relevant experience required 0–2 years of hematology experience preferred Physician Assistant Pathway Graduate of a PA‑C program that qualifies the graduate to sit for the certification examination recognized by the National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Eligibility for Ohio licensure as a PA‑C Zero years of relevant experience required 0–2 years of hematology experience preferred Additional Information All final candidates will be required to complete a background check.
