The new Psychiatric Emergency Center, on the southwest side of the campus along Allen Street at South Jennings, is the only one in Tarrant County and will have three times the number of care spaces than our current facility. A highly skilled team of Psychiatrists, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, social workers and support personnel provide 24 hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week services for people in mental health crisis, both voluntary and involuntary services. The Psychiatric Emergency Center provides patient-centered care for all individuals who present for evaluation. The multidisciplinary team assesses the person and their situation to coordinate care for the best possible treatment plan.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Psychiatric Triage Psychiatric Evaluation Short term interventions including observation, monitoring and stabilization of acute crisis Referral services that meet the needs of the individual person Evaluation for admission to an Acute Inpatient Unit Position details - Full Time Night Shift (8p-8a) Three 12-hour shifts per week, 39 per quarter.

Position-Specific Details: Department Schedule: 24 hours/day, 7 days/week Provider Schedule: 39 shifts/quarter with rotating weekends (~ 3-4 weeks) Average Patients Per Day: Average of 1,500 patient visits/months or 50/day Call Schedule (Y/N): No Support Staff: Behavioral Health Nurses, Techs, Social Workers Certifications Required/Preferred: Required: PMHNP or MPAS, DEA Certification, & BLS

Qualifications: Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing with PMHNP certification OR Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from and accredited program. Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an advanced practice provider in a psychiatric setting. Must have current Texas Physician Assistant license or Texas APRN license with PMHNP certification. DEA Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Key Competencies: Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to patient safety, efficiency, and equitable healthcare delivery. Proficiency in the use of electronic health records (EHR).

Work Environment: The Psychiatric Emergency Center provides patient-centered care 24-hour-a-day, 7 day-a-week services for people in mental health crisis, both voluntary and involuntary services. The APP will work alongside residents, fellows, and APP students while closely collaborating with attending psychiatrists, primary teams, social workers, case managers, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
