Growing together.Infusion Office, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detail oriented Infusion Pharmacy Technician to join our team. Infusion Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.Schedule: The hours are Monday through Friday a 40-hour work week to be determined by the supervisor between the hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.Location: 30 Columbia Street, Infusion Suite, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601Primary Responsibilities:Coordinates with nursing staff to assure the most cost-effective method of delivery is utilized to achieve expected outcomeInformation is input into the computerized software system to ensure accurate and timely dispensing and billingCoordinates the drug preparation work of pharmacy technician and checks the accuracy of that work prior to releasing the medications for distribution. Accurately checks medications prepared by pharmacy techniciansBe knowledgeable with regards to the proper use and handling of sterile and hazardous medications.Ensures compliance with all FDA, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy, OSHA and other regulatory standards. Follows all department policies and procedures. Participates in department staff meetings and other functions required in the department, maintains license, continuing education and competencies as required by the appropriate regulatory agency and departmentComplies with all applicable Federal, State pharmacy rules and regulations related to dispensing, controlled substances, etc.Ensures that all manufacturer requirements for REMS and/or other requirements are met when dispensing and/or shipping drugsProvide oversight of the safety; appropriateness, and effectiveness of the pharmaceutical care provide to patients (consumers) as it relates to specialty products dispensedMonitors and orders all specialty pharmacy medicationsMaintains all inventory and ordering of medications for infusion suitePerforms other duties as assignedWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group? The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment.
