Weekend Residential Mentor & Kitchen Associate Overview Weekend Residential Mentor & Kitchen Associate Pay Rate: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experience Schedule: Saturday and Sunday 10:00am - 6:00pm with opportunity to pick up additional shifts Location: Needville, TX Are you empathetic, patient, and passionate about helping young adults on their journey to mental wellness? Join us at OPI Houston in Needville, TX, as a Behavioral Health Associate! As a Behavioral Health Associate, you’ll work with young adults ages 18-28, guiding them through experiential therapies such as art, music, yoga, hiking, and fitness. You’ll be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting their mental health and well-being, including weekend kitchen and meal-service coverage. Empathy and maintaining strong personal and professional boundaries are key to thriving in this role. This active , hands-on role includes direct involvement in experiential therapies such as art, music, yoga, fitness, equine therapy, and ranch-based activities like gardening and animal care. It also features urban experiences such as museum visits, community service, and navigating public transportation. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll help create a structured, supportive environment where young adults can heal and build essential life bits. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in physically active roles and feel comfortable working in a fast-paced , interactive setting that blends city life with therapeutic ranch experiences. Responsibilities Assist with weekend kitchen operations, including meal preparation, food service, kitchen organization, cleanup, and maintaining food safety standards. Client Engagement and Support: Build meaningful, supportive relationships with clients, maintaining professional boundaries while assisting with their daily needs and activities. Effective Treatment Application: Review and apply treatment team strategies daily to drive client progress and ensure effective intervention. Crisis Management Expertise: Utilize advanced de-escalation techniques and crisis management training to support clients, ensuring a calm and safe environment. Attachment-Based Care: Embrace a caregiver role with empathy and intentionality, fostering attuned relationships and providing constructive feedback to support client growth. Campus Cleanliness and Maintenance: Contribute to a clean and welcoming environment by managing campus upkeep, supporting clients with chores, and addressing maintenance issues promptly. Accurate Documentation: Maintain thorough and precise documentation of client interactions and staff interventions to ensure consistent and effective care. Professional Standards and Compliance: Uphold company values, communicate effectively, adhere to policies, and maintain punctuality while managing time off and avoiding unauthorized overtime. Qualifications Age: 21 years of age or older Education: High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D required. Associates or bachelor's in human services, psychology, criminal justice, or related field is preferred. Skills: Comfortable working in both a residential care environment and a kitchen setting. Experience: Experience in behavioral health, residential treatment, direct care, youth services, hospitality, food service, or related fields preferred. Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification preferred, will provide training Background Checks: Must pass pre-employment drug screen and federal and state background check in concordance with Texas state laws. Physical Intervention: Must be willing and able to participate in physical interventions (e.g., therapeutic holds) when necessary, following all safety protocols and trauma-informed practices Physical Readiness: Comfortable with physically active work, including standing, walking, and engaging in interventions as part of a team-based safety approach.
