- Executing thorough patient evaluations, initiating diagnostic testing, and developing personalized treatment plans
- Diagnosing and managing acute, episodic, or chronic medical issues either independently or collaboratively with supervising physicians
- Empowering patients and their families with knowledge on health maintenance, prevention, and chronic illness management
- Prescribing necessary medications and therapies within your scope of practice
- Engaging in patient follow-ups and chronic care strategies
- Working cohesively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless and comprehensive care experience
- Maintaining accurate and thorough documentation in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Virginia
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Strong clinical judgement paired with a nurturing bedside demeanor
- Superb communication abilities with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, patient-centered care environments
- Proficient with electronic medical record systems and comfortable utilizing telehealth technology
