Position Title: Maintenance Improvement Technician Issue/Revision Date: 3/1/2019 Area/Specialty: Maintenance Location: ADVICS Manufacturing, LaGrange, Georgia Department: Maintenance Reports To: (not specified) FLSA Category: Hourly Salaried - Exempt Direct Reports: No Position Description Facilitate the manufacture of quality friction brake products by supporting production and ensuring all machines operate in top condition. Position Duties and Responsibilities Plan and implement new manufacturing processes, working with Design Engineering to ensure all machine parts are available according to schedule. Improve manufacturing process and help increase capacity by reviewing issues, investigating improvement ideas, implementing improvement plans, and evaluating effectiveness. Set up manufacturing conditions by reviewing product drawings and specifications, programming machines to meet production requirements. Maintain machine function to prevent downtime. Knowledge / Experience / Skills Follow all safety guidelines with special emphasis on correct lifting procedures. Strict adherence to 5S concept. Notify supervisor if problems with dies occur. Follow work order system. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1+ years of experience with tooling & dies. Work Environment Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions (e.g., working around moving machines). Protective clothing or gear such as safety glasses, gloves, and safety shoes is required. Physical Demands Employees regularly required to talk or hear, occasionally walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands or arms.
