Post-Partum RN – Travel Nurse (Overland Park, Kansas) Duration: 13 weeks | Hours: 36 hours per week | Shift: 12‑hour nights | Employment Type: Travel Position Overview Seeking a Post‑Partum/Mother‑Baby RN for an immediate travel nursing assignment in Overland Park, KS. The RN should have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience and perform dual roles of caring for infants and educating mothers during the post‑partum period. Key Responsibilities Maintain a comfortable, safe, and clean environment for both mother and infant. Provide basic newborn care and assess for critical signs and symptoms in mother and newborn. Assist mothers with hygienic needs and assess for post‑partum bleeding. Inspect C‑section incisions when applicable. Monitor emotional status of mothers and provide appropriate support. Educate mothers on infant care, including feeding, bathing, and diaper changing. Stand, walk, bend, lean, and stoop for long periods; lift up to 50 pounds as needed; handle exposure to chemicals and infectious diseases. Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) license. BLS and NRP certifications; minimum 2 years of experience. Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
