About the Position

Job Title: RN Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 AM - 07:00 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: RN License Certifications: BLS, NRP Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Requires the ability to work in a stressful environment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Will be required to work up to 6 weekend shifts and holidays as needed per department needs. Labor and Delivery nurses provide critical care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth. They monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, manage pain, assist with deliveries, and educate families on postpartum recovery.
