Outpatient Occupational Therapist

Job Description

The Outpatient Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating all assigned patients and developing, implementing, and modifying treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction. This role includes delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring the design of functional treatment programs to allow for effective return to community activities. The Occupational Therapist will also serve as an educator for patients, families, students, coworkers, and themselves.

Core Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and utilizes clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
• Documents medical records clearly, accurately, and timely, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
• Participates in the student program as assigned, providing a positive learning environment with appropriate supervision.
• Engages in ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Adheres to all relevant regulations and maintains professional licensure in good standing.
• Understands and contributes to performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of services.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school.
• Active and applicable state licensure for the role.
• 6 months to 1+ year of outpatient clinical experience.
• CPR Certification required.
• Experience in making splints is essential.

Schedule

This is a 40-hour work week position with a 5x8.0 shift.
