LIFE CENTER CENTRAL CAMPUS - Audio Engineer

Location: 1717 S Union Ave, Tacoma, WA, 98405-1997, United States Base Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 / Hour Employee Type: FT Non-Exempt TITLE: Audio Engineer CAMPUS: Central STATUS: Full Time CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Production Director PAY RANGE: $26.00 - $29.00/hour Summary/Objective The audio engineer is responsible for recording, creating, enhancing, and editing sound for weekend gatherings, large group meetings, and special events. Supervisory Responsibility This role does not have a supervisory component. Responsibilities Execute sound for all Central Campus Gatherings, LCA chapels and events, large meetings, and special events. This includes mixing and regulating sound inputs and feeds. Fix and enhance sound at live events. Communicate with other staff members to ensure deadlines are met and projects are completed to specifications. Test and troubleshoot equipment regularly. Replace any faulty components. Notify supervisor when major equipment repairs are needed. Set up and tear down all equipment for weekend gatherings and events, safely and timely. Attend planning meetings and rehearsals. Perform other reasonable duties as requested and assigned. Demonstrate ethical practice, professionalism, and confidentiality. Be comfortable with public speaking, teaching, and praying in ministry settings. Model a growing walk with Jesus and alignment with Life Center’s mission and theology. Faithfully support Life Center with time, talent, and treasure. Supervise volunteers or small teams effectively. Adapt to change with flexibility and composure. Be a lifelong learner; seek professional and spiritual development. Be proficient in ministry systems and digital tools (CCB, LEADR, PCO, HRIS, Microsoft 365, etc.) to coordinate and track outcomes. Emboduce staff attributes as listed in the Little Book of Life Center. Ability to use various models of sound equipment. Basic knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. Discerning ear; superb ear for sound. Practical knowledge of theatre operations. Ability to use specialized programs and equipment in AV presentations. Compliant with Life Center’s Policies and Practices, including but not limited to Employee Handbook and Safety Manual. Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensure High School diploma or equivalent. Certificate in audio technology or similar recommended. Practical experience with sound equipment. Experience in technical entertainment including lighting design, set design, and lighting board programming. Physical Demands Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time as required by job. Lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch to perform tasks in various environments. Talk and hear, reach, and grasp, see and adjust visual focus. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Work at heights and stand for long periods of time. Work Environment and Travel Operate in a professional office and ministry environment. Interact routinely with staff, volunteers, and guests. Primary campus location for this role: Central. Local travel may be required for all staff meetings. Four days during the Monday through Friday work week window, primarily during the hours of 8:30am – 5:00pm. Flexibility for days, evenings, weekends, and some holidays. Routinely requires evening and weekend work pertaining to ministry’s needs and events which occur in the evenings or on weekends. Attendance at the following staff meetings is required for this role: Reset, Annual Meeting, any required staff training, recurring meetings as required, and additional meetings as requested.
