Youth Mentor- Weekend Only

Job Description

Job Description

This Is More Than a Job. It’s Mentorship.

If you’ve ever coached a team, stepped in for a kid who needed guidance, or felt called to help young men grow into their best selves — this role is for you.

Anderson Health Services is hiring Youth Care Workers to work directly with boys and adolescent young men , helping them build confidence, discipline, emotional strength, and life skills.

This is an active, hands-on role for people who believe presence matters — and who aren’t afraid to lead by example.

Who We Are

Anderson Health Services is a youth-focused behavioral health organization grounded in:

Love, Care, Kindness, and Compassion.

• We believe strong relationships change lives.
• We believe structure builds safety.
• And we believe young men thrive when they have consistent, positive role models.

What You’ll Actually Do

As a Youth Care Worker, you won’t sit behind a desk. You will:

• Mentor boys and adolescent young men through real-life experiences
• Coach youth in:
  • Emotional control and confidence
  • Healthy decision-making
  • Respect, boundaries, and accountability
  • Daily life skills and routines
• Be active — games, workouts, outdoor activities, structured challenges
• Model calm leadership, consistency, and strength
• Show up when it matters most (after school, evenings, weekends)
• Build trust through actions, not lectures
• Document sessions clearly and responsibly
• Work closely with a supportive clinical and leadership team

This Role Is a Strong Fit If You Are

• Athletic or active
• A coach, former athlete, or team leader
• Comfortable setting boundaries and holding youth accountable
• Calm under pressure
• Motivated by impact, not just a paycheck
• Looking to build experience in:
  • Youth development
  • Behavioral health
  • Coaching, counseling, or human services

What We Offer

• $18–$21 per hour (based on experience)
• Afternoon & weekend schedules
• Flexible full-time and part-time options
• Paid training and ongoing development
• Supportive team culture — you won’t do this alone
• Mileage reimbursement (when applicable)
• Real experience that matters if you’re pursuing:
  • Counseling
  • Social work
  • Psychology
  • Education
  • Youth or community leadership

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Experience working with youth (sports, mentoring, camps, schools, after-school programs, faith or community groups, behavioral health, etc.)
• Reliable transportation & valid driver’s license
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to be consistent, firm, and supportive
• Comfortable following structured plans and expectations

Bonus (Not Required, But Helpful)

• Background in behavioral health, education, or human services
• Experience working with youth who struggle with emotions or behavior

Why This Work Matters

For some of the boys you’ll mentor, you may be the most consistent positive presence in their week .

Your influence can shape:

• how they handle stress
• how they respond to authority
• how they see themselves
• how they treat others

That’s real impact.
