Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing to join our team. This role is significantly focused on providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced environment. The opportunity involves working with orthopedic and neuro spine patients, ensuring their recovery and pain management are well managed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to a diverse patient population, primarily focusing on orthopedic, neuro spine, and post-surgical patients.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
• Adapt to float to other medical-surgical units as needed to meet staffing requirements.
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in nursing, specifically in ortho care.
• Must have Epic experience; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Current certifications: BCLS and NIH.
• Ability to start IVs and experience with telemetry monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification.
• Prior charge nurse experience.
• Experience in a Level I Trauma setting.

Work Environment

This unit operates with an average daily census of 37 patients, with a ratio of 5-6 patients per nurse, which may flex to 7 in extreme cases. The unit is classified as fast-paced, requiring nurses to efficiently manage pain and provide comprehensive care to multi-faceted patient needs.

Schedule and Availability

• 12-hour day shifts (06:45 AM - 07:15 PM).
• 36 or 48-hour weekly contracts available.
• Every other weekend duty is required; make-up time may be necessary if calls out occur on weekends.
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off allowed.
• No call requirements.

Additional Notes

All holiday time-off requests (RTO) cannot be accommodated during the holiday season, and all staff must pass EKG Testing prior to commencing employment.
