Biometrics (Fingerprint) Technician - Part Time

Job Description This is an opportunity to work with the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) in administering the nation’s lawful immigration system as a Biometric Technician (BT) located in Omaha, NE. The position is part‑time, requiring availability all five days, Monday through Friday, from 7:45a.m. to 4:15p.m., with occasional schedule changes as needed. Primary Responsibilities Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States. Ensure all who enter the ASC are approved applicants and provide crowd control and assistance in enforcing ASC policies. Provide front‑line customer service on behalf of Amentum and the United States Government, maintaining a cheerful and inviting demeanor. Safeguard areas where Personal Identifiable Information (PII) is vulnerable, including applicant paperwork, electronic biometric data, and reports. Capture electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within established program‑wide processing times. Screen applicants to verify valid appointment notice and identification, using crowd control barriers to manage entry. Inspect applicants and belongings, inquire about illness status during pandemics or other health crises, and decline entry if required. Conduct periodic facility checks and report concerns to the Site Supervisor. Assist the Site Supervisor or government Immigration Service Officer in contacting law enforcement or first responders when necessary. Handle administrative paperwork, including tracking processing time, reconciling biometrics captured, maintaining visitor logs, and signing off on facility checks. Required Qualifications US Citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization. High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Physical ability to stand upright and hold applicant’s hand for fingerprint capture. Ability to work in a high‑paced environment with the public. Basic typing and computer skills. Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within sixty days. Desired Skills Ability to speak a foreign language. Compensation Details $17.75 per hour. Compensation may vary based on job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable agreements, and laws.
