The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment that support daily sawmill operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with industrial electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, and automated equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Major Responsibilities & Duties Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, lighting, and production equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues involving conveyors, saws, motors, hydraulic systems, and other heavy industrial machinery. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, VFDs, and automated control systems. Install, test, and calibrate electrical components, machinery, and control panels in accordance with operational and safety standards. Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to minimize equipment downtime and maximize operational efficiency. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams. Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA regulations, electrical codes, and company safety policies. Maintain accurate maintenance records, repair logs, and inspection documentation. Collaborate with maintenance personnel, production teams, and contractors to improve equipment reliability and operational performance. Respond quickly and effectively to electrical emergencies to minimize production interruptions. Qualifications, Skills & Experience Education & Licensing Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent industrial electrical experience preferred. Valid electrician’s license, preferred, depending on state or local requirements. Experience Minimum of 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing, sawmill, lumber, or heavy industrial environment preferred. Required Skills Strong troubleshooting abilities with industrial electrical systems and heavy manufacturing equipment. Experience working with PLCs, VFDs, MCCs, conveyors, and power distribution systems. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and electrical safety standards. Strong problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout scheduled shifts. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, prying, and moving of heavy materials and equipment. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders or stairs as needed. Must be comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to loud noise, dust, vibration, and varying temperatures. Hearing protection and other required PPE must be worn at all times. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and the ability to safely use tools and equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
