Lateral Associate - Tax

Job Overview A law firm seeks a Lateral Associate to join its tax practice in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have a class-year appropriate understanding of tax law and relevant transactional tax experience. Duties Conduct research and draft legal documents related to tax law. Engage in strategic and private equity M&A transactions. Participate in capital markets activities, including spin-offs and IPOs. Advise on energy taxation, including oil and gas and energy transition. Assist in investment fund formation and real estate matters, including REITs. Interact directly with clients and participate in public speaking engagements. Requirements Experience in transactional tax law. Outstanding oral communication and analytical skills. Ability to think creatively about complex problems. Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for client interaction. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Bar admission in the state of Texas. Skills Excellent research and writing abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
