ASCP Certified Pharmacist - PRN

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented ASCP Certified Pharmacist to join our team on a part-time, on-site basis in a regional healthcare facility serving the Southern United States. This role involves preparing and dispensing medication orders accurately according to physician requests and established protocols. Key Responsibilities Interpret and transcribe medication orders, maintaining precise patient medication profiles. Ensure all medications dispensed are accurately filled, properly labeled, and within expiration dates. Deliver medications promptly to patient care units, including stat and routine orders. Apply auxiliary labels appropriately and compound pharmaceuticals, including sterile and parenteral nutrition products. Maintain adequate medication stock in patient bins and automated dispensing machines, performing regular inspections and restocking as needed. Review override medications, verify physician orders, and ensure all charges are posted correctly. Use aseptic techniques during IV medication preparation and maintain cleanliness and logs for IV preparation areas. Maintain security of pharmacy and medication storage areas, issue controlled substances, and keep accurate records in compliance with legal requirements. Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and providing performance feedback. Conduct monthly inspections of nursing units, crash carts, and floor stock medications, removing expired stock and documenting inspections. Education and Experience ASCP certification or equivalent pharmacy licensure required. Experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings preferred. Requirements Strong knowledge of medication preparation, dispensing, and safety protocols. Ability to work independently and supervise pharmacy staff.
