Performs varied clerical and secretarial duties requiring a basic level of knowledge on office routine and understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to bookkeeping practices. Maintains a close and highly responsive relationship to the day-to-day activities of the site and administrative staff. Works fairly independently, receiving minimum supervision and guidance.

Daily Start/End times: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Benefits--Medical/Dental/Vision through SEBB (School Employee Benefits Board) are provided for employees who work at least 630 hours per academic year.
Additional benefits may include vacation, sick, personal days, and paid holidays.
Often, positions have additional pay provisions above what is represented on the salary schedule, all in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreements (if applicable) as negotiated.
SALARY: Level 8 on the Secretarial/Clerical Salary Schedule. Experience increments depends on experience in the same or similar permanent position within a Washington State public school.
Responsibilities
1. Assist in the operation of administrative and student offices in support of school and staff, ensuring a positive, professional image. This includes greeting students, staff, visitors and callers, handling their inquiries, and directing them to the appropriate persons according to their needs.
2. Provide administrative support and ensure efficient operation of the business office. Duties may include accounts payable/receivable operations, ordering materials and supplies, sales assistance, answering phone inquiries, and distribution of student/staff parking passes.
3. Facilitate the development of an Associated Student Body (ASB) budget and coordinate all transactions concerning income and expenditures, including collection and distribution of ASB monies while following District guidelines regarding state laws related to use of public funds. Assist in training advisors on annual budget preparation.
4. Receives monies collected at site, maintain records and perform deposits; including lunch account deposits and follow-up with reminders for low/no balance student accounts.
5. Provide financial and statistical support to assistant principals, activities, and business manager via computer or other medium.
6. Issue vouchers, purchase orders, and requisitions, in accordance with proper accounting procedure.
7. Assist with minor medical injuries, illnesses and may administer medication for students.
8. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
1. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional business course work preferred.
2. Minimum two years of recent bookkeeping work experience.
3. Ability to accurately type 40 words per minute.
4. Basic level knowledge of general computer skills, including Microsoft office programs, student information system (i.e., PowerSchool), nutrition services point of sale software (i.e., Mosaic), financial software (i.e., Intouch), employee database (IFAS), single point of entry software, and spreadsheet programs experience preferred.
5. Demonstrated accuracy in record keeping skills including use of ten-key and cash handling.
6. First Aid card preferred.

Work Schedule Days and hours (listed above) are subject to change depending on program and district needs.
Stipends, Leave Accruals and Holidays Stipends, leaves and paid holidays are in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement (Collective Bargaining Agreements) as negotiated.

- School District Employees participate in the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) public pension plan. Employees can choose from a lifetime retirement pension plan or a hybrid pension and investment plan that contributes between 5% and 15% of wages to retirement. When employees meet plan requirements and retire, they are guaranteed a monthly benefit for the rest of their life from the employer-funded pension. Employees can also participate in voluntary savings programs to increase retirement savings such as the DRS Deferred Compensation Program or by participating in a 403(b)-retirement plan through the district's plan manager, OMNI.
