This role blends people leadership, hands-on technical oversight, and strategic planning to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of mission-critical systems.The ideal candidate is a proven technical leader who can manage day-to-day operations while also shaping long-term systems and database strategy. This individual will foster a collaborative, accountable team culture and partner closely with cross-functional IT and business stakeholders in a fast-paced, always-on environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead, schedule, and assign work across systems engineering and database administration teams, ensuring balanced workloads, performance standards, and ongoing skills developmentOversee administration, maintenance, and proactive monitoring of server environments, operating systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud infrastructureReview and guide system architecture and database administration practices; provide hands-on technical direction as neededDirect the design, implementation, and maintenance of database environments, including backup/recovery strategies, security controls, and performance optimizationDevelop and maintain database frameworks supporting enterprise applications and analytics platforms, including data warehouse environmentsPlan, propose, and implement system and database upgrades to maintain stability, availability, and scalabilityEnsure high availability and reliability of critical, revenue-impacting business systemsEnforce change management and development lifecycle processes across systems and database functionsPromote strong documentation standards, project tracking, and operational reporting; review and approve team deliverablesPartner with infrastructure, applications, and other technical teams to coordinate enhancements, upgrades, and integrationsParticipate in an on-call rotation providing 24/7 support for owned systems, including incident response, vendor coordination, and executive-level escalation when requiredAnalyze workflows and priorities, allocate resources effectively, and communicate progress, risks, and accomplishments to senior IT leadershipEnsure adherence to internal standards, policies, and best practices for systems and database managementContribute to IT strategy, architectural direction, and operational philosophy aligned with business objectivesMentor team members, deliver performance feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and customer-focused serviceQualifications:QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experienceExperienceProven experience leading technical teams in high-availability, production environmentsStrong background in enterprise systems engineering and database administrationExperience supporting mission-critical, always-on business systemsTechnical SkillsSystems engineering, server and operating system administrationVirtualization platforms and cloud infrastructureDatabase design, administration, backup/recovery, security, and performance tuningWorking knowledge of directory services, storage technologies, and enterprise networking conceptsCertificationsRelevant systems, database, or cloud certifications are a plusSoft SkillsStrong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skillsAbility to perform effectively under pressure and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situationsLeadership mindset with a focus on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementWhy is This a Great Opportunity :Why Join Us?Lead a high-impact technical team supporting enterprise-scale systemsInfluence infrastructure and database strategy in a mission-critical environmentCollaborate with experienced, forward-thinking IT professionalsCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefitsClear opportunity for professional growth, leadership development, and long-term stabilityCulture that values accountability, integrity, collaboration, and technical excellence
