Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Structural Engineer to support our multi-disciplinary design team addressing the most challenging engineering tasks in power generation. AECOM's broad technical capabilities, global footprint and experience in executing large scale projects uniquely position us to lead in traditional steam, thermal power generation, renewables and advanced nuclear technologies. This includes being a part of the first-of-a-kind program with AECOM partners advancing the innovative stellarator technology to the world.For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices located in multiple locations across the United States.The successful candidate will bring a solid foundational understanding of structural engineering design and core technology principles, with some hands-on experience supporting heavy industrial and power generation projects.The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:Perform engineering analyses and design under the direct supervision of experienced and licensed professional engineersProvide engineering support for multi-discipline design projects from work scope development until the completion of constructionEvaluate and apply applicable building code requirements and design code requirements (e.g. IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC)Travel to project site and meetings as needed.Uses computer software as a tool for solving structural engineering problems including building 3D analytical structural modelsAssist with productions of drawing and documentsDevelop technical specifications, plans, and detailsDCS—EnergyAECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. We connect knowledge and experience across our global framework to bring together a unique combination of engineers, planners, scientists, and project managers who advance cleaner, secure, and more sustainable energy solutions.QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering2+ years of relevant heavy industrial and/or power generation experiencePreferred Qualifications+4 years of experienceEIT or PE licenseDemonstrated experience of structural steel design and reinforced concrete designDemonstrated experience with design/building codes such as the AISC Manual of Steel Construction, ACI 318, International Building Code, and ASCE 7 (Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Buildings and Other Structures).Proficient with computer productivity software such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)Demonstrated experience to structural analysis software such as STAAD ProExperience with civil drainage and sitework designBasic knowledge and skill with AutoCAD softwareEnthusiastic, hard-working, technically proficient, with ambition and driveAdditional InformationRelocation assistance is not available for this positionSponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available for this position, now or in the futureAt AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
