Summary of Job Duties: The Communications Assistant is responsible for assisting with daily communication processes, including printing, packaging, and direct mailing of admission materials. This position will also work closely with the university's postal operations, maintain inventory, assist in the creation of variable data PDFs for the print process, and assist with maintaining records on the student information system. The Communications Assistant is responsible for the operation and routine maintenance of equipment, as well as contacting vendors for repairs and service. This position will help develop documents for communications tasks, both machine and print/mail related, as well as local distribution and gathering of communications materials. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
- At least one year of experience in administrative support, communications, office operations, or a related field
- Must be able to safely lift, move, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
- Experience with digital printing systems
- Experience with USPS mail processes
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to maintain accurate records and inventory
- Ability to operate large-scale copy systems

Salary Information: $40,250.00
