Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years nursing experience License: Current RN licensure Certifications: BLS and PALS required Must-Have: Strong assessment and critical thinking skills; experience with telemetry monitoring Description: Join our dedicated team in a 16-bed unit. You will provide exceptional care to a diverse patient population. We maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio for high-quality, personalized care in a supportive environment. Deliver compassionate nursing care to patients with various medical conditions, including respiratory issues, cellulitis, and congestive heart failure. Surgical cases may include colon resections and orthopedic procedures. Monitor patients using telemetry; RNs are responsible for interpreting their own strips. Collaborate with a clinical care coordinator and charge nurse who takes patient assignments. A house supervisor supports the team on weekends. Assist in outpatient infusions as needed; experience is preferred for travelers. We seek candidates who are team-oriented and eager to impact patient care. A strong focus on thorough charting is essential due to our commitment to quality care. Expect a high turnover of patients with frequent admissions and discharges throughout the day. There is one CNA available for assistance. Access to high-flow oxygen and Vapotherm is provided; more complex respiratory support is transferred to ICU. Shifts are posted six weeks in advance, accommodating traveler preferences. Weekend commitment is every other or every third weekend. Volunteers are appreciated for holiday requirements. No call requirements are expected, though volunteer opportunities are available. Dress code includes pewter scrub tops with black shoes and pants; colored tops are acceptable if layered with a pewter outer garment. We are committed to maintaining lower patient ratios to ensure quality care.
