Role: Paraprofessional (Teacher Aide)

Location: Spring Grove Elementary School, Spring Grove, IL

District: Nippersink School District 2

Employment Type: Full-Time (Approx. 7 hours/day, 175–180 days per school year)

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers to support students in a general classroom setting.

• Instructional Support: Reinforce learning concepts in small groups or 1:1 settings.
• Behavioral Management: Implement behavior intervention plans and de-escalation strategies.
• Data Collection: Assist teachers in tracking student progress toward specific goals.

Requirements & Qualifications

To work as a Paraprofessional in Illinois, you must meet state licensure standards:

• Licensure: Must hold a valid Illinois Paraprofessional License (ELS-PARA). How to qualify: You need 60 college credit hours, an Associate's degree, or a passing score on the ETS ParaPro assessment or ACT WorkKeys.
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience with special needs students is highly preferred but not always required for entry-level roles.

Salary & Benefits

• Estimated Pay: $17.80/hr plus hygiene stipend where applicable.
