About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery, Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2 Years License: Active Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience managing multiple drips for offloading fluids in the advanced heart failure population. Description: Position involves providing care in a telemetry environment. Nurses are required to handle protocols for inotropes, diuretics, and heparin. No titration of medications is permitted. Patient ratios are 1:3 during the day and 1:4 at night. Weekend shifts are required unless otherwise indicated. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with telemetry and cardiology patients is a plus. Candidates should be comfortable with blood product administration and central line care. Unit treats adults and geriatric patients with various cardiothoracic conditions. Common procedures include coronary bypass grafts, valve replacements, and arrhythmia interventions. Strong interdisciplinary support is available, including therapy, pharmacy, and social services. Candidates must be able to manage cardiac drips and vasoactive drips without titration. No vent, A-line, or sheath management is required on this unit. Travelers will not take heart or lung transplant patients or LVADs unless they have the necessary experience. Candidates are expected to adhere to safety protocols and isolation precautions. Team members will collaborate to ensure optimal patient care. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in EPIC for charting purposes. This is an opportunity to work in a supportive environment with a strong core staff. The position may involve floating within the hospital as needed.
