Community Research Liaison (Casual, 15 hrs/week)

Position Summary:

The Community/Research Liaison provides curriculum development support for the UTHealth Houston Institute on Aging Elder Mistreatment Core. They will support the Core Director to create elder mistreatment content for training, continuing education and resources guides.

Position Key Accountabilities:

• Collaborate with the Research Coordinator to develop a comprehensive training guide for students and volunteers engaging in weekly social calls with older adults.
• Design a curriculum focused on improving conversation skills, empathy, and confidence in intergenerational communication.
• Assist in creating clear learning objectives and benchmarks for volunteers.
• Meet with team regularly to collaborate and discuss progress on training development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

This position is a security-sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code §51.215 and Texas Government Code §411.094.
