Job Description

This role is responsible for operating machines in a clean manufacturing environment to produce precision metal components for a wide range of industries. You will set up, run, and monitor production equipment, perform visual inspections, and support general production activities to ensure high-quality output on all shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate die casting and molding machines safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment.
• Ensure the die is running properly and gather first-off pieces following setup for delivery to quality for inspection.
• Observe and monitor assigned casting and molding machine operations throughout the shift.
• Visually inspect products for excessive flash, surface finish issues, and other obvious or specifically cautioned defects.
• Perform routine checks on machine performance and identify basic issues for troubleshooting.
• Lift, carry, and move materials frequently, with material weights up to 50 lbs.
• Support general production and machine operation tasks as needed, including basic cleaning and organizing of the work area.
• Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding production status, quality concerns, and equipment issues.
• Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks on machines as needed, using mechanical aptitude to help keep equipment in good working condition.

Essential Skills

• Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to visually inspect parts for defects and quality issues.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis.
• Good spoken and written communication skills.
• Proven experience as a machine operator.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform general maintenance tasks on production equipment.
• Good problem-solving skills to identify and address basic machine and production issues.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or three to six months of related experience or training preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating production machinery, with injection molding experience preferred.
• Familiarity with casting or molding operations and related industrial equipment.
• Comfort working in a general manufacturing environment that can become warm in the summer.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and quality guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail when inspecting parts and monitoring machine performance.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean general manufacturing environment equipped with dedicated die casting and molding machines and other industrial equipment. The facility can become warm during the summer months, and employees are expected to follow safety and dress code requirements, including wearing long-sleeve shirts, steel-toe footwear, and safety glasses. Work is hands-on and physically active, involving frequent material handling and close interaction with production machinery while adhering to established safety protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elgin, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.15/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Elgin,IL.
