We provide customers leading edge support from prototype to production.Summary of position:The Planning Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the flow of production parts to support scheduling of orders and services in support of established and scheduled customer commitments. Individual will manage the Planning Team and work closely with purchasing, engineering, quality and inventory control staff. Standard duties for the position include, but aren't limited to, the following:Essential duties:Manage/coordinate the following items:Process timely release of shop orders in quantities that supports upper level demandGenerate and respond to the various ERP/MRP reporting systems in a timely manner to insure due dates and priorities are properly defined for the shop floor or procurement staffMaintain weekly/monthly production schedule for manufacturing facility and execute the subsequent MRP cycles where applicable to support the schedulesUtilize various tools available to review and coordinate efforts needed to support required start and completion dates of components.Assist program management with purchase requisitions for materials/services as needed.Schedule and manage meetings with manufacturing partners in U.S. and/or globally as required, reducing and eliminating shortagesInsure MRP fixed lead times are reviewed and balanced against corresponding routing lead times and adjusted as requiredDefine, monitor and adjust planning as conditions in the manufacturing process or demand stream changesNotify interfacing departments to effect corrections to system that have resulted in invalid outputs, particularly those affecting shop load and schedulingParticipate in production meetings and presentations as directed by department program and upper management.Education and/or experience required:Undergraduate degree and/or technical associate degree with Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations and Planning courses a plus5-7 years management experience. Manufacturing environment preferred.Minimum five years as a Planner/Scheduler with a tangible product.5 years' experience with a computerized ERP/MRP or equivalent scheduling system, experience with Epicor Vantage or SAP a plusCore competencies:Ability to lead a team in a growth environment.Understand that driving to customer commits is paramount to success.Strong analytical and sound decision making skills.Solid experience with computerized systems MRP software, and Microsoft Applications with Excel skills.Plan and solve any roadblocks to meeting planAble to read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints and Bill of MaterialsProven track record of exceeding customer expectations.Self-motivated to excel, act upon and achieve best possible resultsCulture:At FM Industries our success is powered by people and technology.
