Department Veterinary Assistants Location Huntington, New York Compensation $17.00 - $19.00 / hour Description Would you like to be a part of the fastest growing specialty in veterinary medicine? Gold Coast Center for Veterinary Care is a state of the art referral hospital currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our Physical Rehabilitation team . Gold Coast is proud to offer a variety of rehabilitation services and modalities to our patients including: In-patient/out-patient rehab Home exercise programs Weight loss management Client education Numerous assistive devices Therapeutic laser Electric stimulation Therapeutic massage Therapeutic exercises Therapeutic ultrasound & A wide range of exercise equipment. Schedule: 10 hour shift Day shift Experience: Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred) Your day-to-day responsibilities Gentle handling of patients & restraining Assisting with physical rehabilitation treatments, Maintaining rehabilitation equipment Cleaning, laundry and basic clinic up keep Medication administration & filling prescriptions Assisting our Technicians and our Veterinarian as needed Tackling projects as assigned (with a smile, as always!) Skills Knowledge and Expertise High school diploma or GED required Preferred have at least 1 year of veterinary medicine experience Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff. (It's okay if you talk to animals, too!)
