TITLE: Senior Account Clerk Typist

LOCATION: Support Services Center (Central Business Office), Norwich, NY

REPORTS: Director of Services

TERMS: Full time, 12 months

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must meet the Delaware County Civil Service minimum qualifications:

A. Graduation from high school or NYS equivalency diploma and two (2) years of

full-time paid experience in maintaining financial accounts or records; Or

B. Three years of experience described in (A) above; Or

C. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits
of (A) and (B).

Related post-secondary education may be substituted for paid work experience for
studies in accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, or related work.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DU

TIES:

This position is primarily responsible for processing payrolls and all payroll related
reports for area school districts, including state and federal payroll tax payments and
reports. Additional responsibilities include year-end procedures; supporting accounts
payable; claims auditing; communicating with districts; typing letters and memos; training
staff; and other duties as assigned. Senior Account Clerk Typists maintain and verify a
wide variety of financial records and reports; Classify the distribution of costs according
to prescribed codes; Audits varied accounts, claims and records and the preparation of
reports therefrom; Conducts correspondence in connection with financial matters;
Operates a personal computer, typewriter and/or other word processing related
equipment to produce correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, databases, charts and
other work documents.

SALARY/BENEFITS: Starting at $19/hour + experience; competitive pay and benefits based on the BOCES
Educational Support Personnel Association (BESPA) contract.
