Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Step Down Unit on a travel assignment. The ideal candidate must possess previous ICU experience and proficiency in Epic EMR. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring heightened monitoring and clinical intervention.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to individuals requiring step-down or intermediate-level nursing services.
• Monitor patient conditions, vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and responses to treatment.
• Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient status.
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement tailored care plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

Required Qualifications

• Active Rhode Island RN license or authorization to practice in Rhode Island.
• Previous ICU experience is mandatory.
• Experience with Epic EMR is mandatory.
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to manage multiple patients in a high-acuity environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Step Down or Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
• Familiarity with continuous cardiac monitoring and complex patient care.
