Kingdom East Unified Union School District Burke Town School - West Burke, Vermont Open in Google Maps Starting Date: Aug 10, 2026 Job Description The Kingdom East School District is hiring a full-time Content Specialist Teacher assigned to the Burke Town School. The content specialist is a teaching position that is dedicated to helping to foster school climate and culture and provide specially designed instruction (SDI) to students ranging from grades kindergarten to eighth grade . The content specialist will work with the school team in order to support students with functional skills, health and social/emotional/behavioral, literacy and math standards. A content specialist is a licensed teacher (or eligible) who provides direct instruction to students and, in consultation with teachers, special education case managers, and administration, serving learners needing additional interventions and support as defined by Vermont ESS and Federal IDEA statute. The content specialist is well-versed in providing layered support and instruction under the guidelines of the EST and/or 504 or IEP plans within the VTMTSS framework and ACT 173. The content specialist is an individual with a deep understanding in their content whether it be academic, health, physical education, behavior, inclusion, cognitive, or social emotional learning and development. We seek positive team players who are creative, passionate teachers with a sense of humor and genuine love for working with elementary students. The pay range for this position is $46,267-$89,467. Kingdom East School District is located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. We operate seven PreK8th grade schools with 60 to 500 students. Our high school students have a “choice” and may attend one of the traditional independent schools—Lyndon Institute or St. Johnsbury Academy—or another high school of their choosing. We are about 3 hours from Montreal, Boston, and Portland, ME. Our region is known for breathtaking views and access to great skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing, and other outdoor opportunities. We are close to the White Mountains and the Green Mountains. Littleton, NH, and St. Johnsbury, VT, have numerous fine and performing arts venues.
