Part-Time Medical Records Specialist— Remote (Illinois)

Small Illinois Law Firm | 15–20 Hours Per Week | $22–$26 Per Hour

We are an established Illinois law firm seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual to assist with obtaining medical records for our clients. 

This is a fully remote, part-time position offering approximately 15–20 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling during regular business hours.The ideal candidate is organized, persistent, comfortable communicating with medical office personnel, and able to work independently.

You must be an Illinois resident to receive consideration .

Responsibilities:

• Request medical records from hospitals, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
• Follow up regularly with medical records departments to ensure timely receipt of requested documents.
• Track outstanding requests and maintain accurate records of communications and responses.
• Review received records for completeness and identify missing documents.
• Communicate with attorneys and our paralegal regarding the status of requests.
• Organize and maintain confidential electronic client records.

Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent telephone and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and follow through until completed.
• Comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, and electronic document systems.
• Ability to work independently from home.
• Prior experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, insurance company , or law firm is helpful but not required.
• Sense of humor preferred.
