This position will work within the community and with hospital partners to bring awareness to the LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank program through public education and recruitment of donor moms. LifeSouth Cord Blood Bank is a community-based public cord blood bank that collects and stores umbilical cord blood for the purpose of clinical cures and research in the field of stem cell transplantation Our Benefits Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) plan Medical, dental, and vision insurances available to full-time employees the first of the month after 60 days Supplemental insurances including life, cancer, accident, and disability Access to mental wellness resources and counseling through telehealth Free basic life insurance for full-time employees Holiday premium paid on certain holidays Health Savings Account (HSA) with employer match each pay period Employer funded retirement plan for vested employees and 403b offered Access to wages prior to pay day Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To Educate clinicians and potential donors on the cord blood donation process Facilitate daily activities at collection site(s) and ensure they are performed Supervise the Cord Blood Collection Specialists in the region Train new collection staffConduct regular meetings with collection staff to review collection site goals Propose incentive programs to increase collections Make presentations to healthcare professionals and expecting families Distribute educational materials in the labor and delivery units and private Obstetric offices within the assigned district Maintain effective working relationships with local hospitals and their staff Educate clinicians regarding proper cord blood collection technique Co-develop donor education materials and public service announcements targeting minority populations Attend health fairs and other sponsored events to promote and increase the awareness of Cord Blood Act as liaison between Cord Blood and hospitals within the assigned district Qualifications Bachelors degree (A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.) Valid driver's license. Also meet and maintain LifeSouth driver's eligibility requirements Be comfortable working and navigating in a hospital setting and communicating with healthcare professionals at every level Ability to co-create and deliver relevant presentations to superiors, peers and subordinates within, as well as outside of, the organization Willingness and ability to travel at least 25% Previous healthcare experience preferred One year of Marketing or Project Management experience preferred Experience in cellular therapy, cord blood processing/research, and/or leadership experience in a medical laboratory preferred This is a full-time position. Starting salary range is $21.25 - $23.37 an hour. Criminal background check and drug screen required upon conditional offer of hire.
