We are seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to support the assembly, testing, and integration of ruggedized electronic systems for aerospace, space, and terrestrial applications . This hands-on role operates in a high-mix, medium-volume manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to quality, documentation, and traceability standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assembly & Integration
- Perform electrical assembly operations, including wire harness fabrication, cable assembly, and component integration
- Execute PCB rework and repair in accordance with documented procedures
- Integrate electrical subsystems into ruggedized enclosures and chassis
- Apply conformal coating and perform potting operations as required
- Conduct electrical testing, including continuity, insulation resistance, and functional verification
- Operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators
- Execute test procedures and document results with full traceability
- Perform in-circuit and functional testing of assembled electronics
- Maintain detailed assembly and test records in compliance with AS9100 requirements
- Follow IPC-A-610 Class 3 acceptance criteria for all assembly work
- Implement IPC-J-STD-001 Class 3 soldering standards
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities
- Ensure component and assembly traceability per aerospace standards
- Follow work instructions, manufacturing travelers, and engineering drawings
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Support MES (Manufacturing Execution System) data entry and process compliance
- Collaborate with engineering to provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback
Certifications
- IPC-A-610 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS) or Certified IPC Trainer (CIT)
- IPC-J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist (CIS)
- IPC-7711/7721 Rework and Repair Certification
- LPKF systems (PCB prototyping, circuit board plotters, or laser systems) - strong plus
- Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems
- X-ray inspection equipment
- Selective soldering or wave soldering systems
- Understanding of high-reliability electronics and space-grade component requirements
- Familiarity with conformal coating processes and materials
- Experience with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) procedures
- Knowledge of signal integrity considerations for high-speed digital circuits
