Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.Job Summary & ResponsibilitiesDevelop new system architectureDetermine design requirements and solutionsOversee industrial control panel and PCB design, layout, and bring-up, ensuring compliance with signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and safety standards.Collaborate with team members in solving difficult control challengesDesign and conduct experiments to characterize, troubleshoot, and improve complex lithography and optical inspection/metrology systemsEnsure designs meet regulatory and industry standards (e.g., SEMI, NFPA, CE, UL).Ability to design and build test fixtures for component and subsystem testingComposition of procedures for construction or qualification of assemblyWork with manufacturing and QC to improve testing, troubleshooting protocols, and alignment of parts, components, subassemblies and final assembliesInnovative thinker capable of new and fresh ideas for problem solving. Travel domestic and international up to 5% . QualificationsExperience with embedded systems, PLCs, FPGAs, or microcontrollers is highly desirable.Detail, structure, and process oriented with experience in operating within a product lifecycle process.Design and draft cables drawings for production use.Designing for international CE safety standards. Experience working with third party safety regulators a plus.Experience with semiconductor equipment motor, pneumatic, and temperature control systems.Experience defining and managing electrical interfaces between subsystems and vendors.Ability to support BOM selection, component standardization and lifecycle (OB) management.Experienced working with key module and component suppliers.Experienced in developing equipment with external partners to coordinate and collaborate total system requirements and objectives.Strong sense of urgency, discipline and accountability.Strong interpersonal skills, ability to resolve personnel conflicts communicate and influence across all levels of the organization.Strong problem solving, technical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate, quantitative, and timely analysis.Exceptional oral, interpersonal communication and presentation skills.Out of the box thinker with creative solutionsMust be able to work in the US Why Join Onto Innovation?At Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter—and so should your well-being.
