Schedule

• 5 × 8-hour shifts
• 40 hours per week
• Shift window: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Day shift
• Possible weekend coverage, approximately one weekend per month
• Floating between designated locations is required
• On-call is not required
• No scheduling requests can be accommodated

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide nursing support in an outpatient clinic environment.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of recent outpatient experience along with strong hands-on skills in phlebotomy, blood withdrawal, and IV starts . The candidate should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced clinical setting and adapting to changing patient and operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing support in an outpatient clinic setting.
• Perform patient care duties within the LVN/LPN scope of practice.
• Perform phlebotomy and blood withdrawal procedures.
• Initiate IVs and provide appropriate IV-related care.
• Assist with routine outpatient clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow infection prevention, safety, and clinical protocols.
• Float between designated locations as required.
• Provide support to an Urgent Care location when needed, including possible weekend coverage.
• Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and other healthcare team members.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements Education & Training

• Completion of an approved LVN/LPN education and training program.

Licensure & Certifications

• Active California LVN license – Required.
• Pending license candidates will not be considered.
• BLS certification – Required.
• BLS must be issued by AHA or ARC .
• IV start and blood withdrawal skills/certification – Required.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of recent outpatient experience – Required .
• Strong phlebotomy skills – Required .
• Strong IV start skills – Required .
• Experience with blood withdrawal – Required.
• Ability to work independently in an outpatient clinical environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting.
• Flexibility to float between locations as required.

Additional Information

• 13-week contract assignment.
• 40 hours per week.
• Five 8-hour shifts per week.
• Shift schedule falls within the 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM timeframe.
• Possible weekend coverage, approximately one weekend per month, to support Urgent Care needs.
• Floating is required.
• No on-call requirement.
• No scheduling requests can be accommodated.
• Active California LVN license must be available at the time of submission.
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required.
• Flu vaccination requirements are not specified.
• First-time travelers are not specifically excluded.
• All applicable pre-employment and submission requirements must be completed.
